Celebrating 75 Years of Floral Splendor!
The Bluebonnet Garden Club's annual Flower Showcase is set for another year, this time offering two different opportunities to attend.
Since 1949
The Bluebonnet Garden Club of Brenham, Texas, was organized and held its first meeting on September 28, 1949. The club became affiliated with the National Council of State Garden Clubs, Texas Garden Club, Inc., and the Coastal Prairie Council District IV. The club has a closed membership of thirty active members.
BES Butterfly Garden
The Bluebonnet Garden Club maintains a beautiful butterfly garden at Brenham Elementary, where 4th-grade students are involved in learning about butterflies' life cycle and pollinators' importance. Members guide the students through gardening, emphasizing conservation and hands-on environmental learning.
Garden Therapy
The BGC is proud to provide monthly garden therapy programs at nursing homes around Brenham, bringing joy and therapeutic activities to residents. These programs allow seniors to engage with plants, flowers, and the outdoors, offering emotional and mental health benefits. It's a meaningful way to bring nature's beauty to those in care facilities.
Yard of the Month Awards
Each month (for 10 months of the year), the club presents the Yard-of-the-Month Award to a homeowner in Brenham with an exceptionally beautiful yard. Winners receive recognition for their efforts in maintaining an attractive and well-kept outdoor space.
